Midnight Snacks

I woke up in the middle of the night to my three year old son crying.  As any mom would do at 1:00am, I walked to his room in a zombie-like state.  After he finally stopped crying he informed me he needed a snack of "grapes, cheese, and crackers please."  Not exactly what I wanted to prepare at that time of night.  I grabbed my favorite "go-to, guilt free" snack...peanuts and raisins.

This snack is great because you get a little protein from the peanuts and some carb from the raisins.  Despite popular belief, your body NEEDS carbs to keep it going (even if it's just going to sit) and the protein slows down the digestion a bit, so you feel fuller longer.  You could also add some dry cereal from some added fiber.  YUM!
